Eki"Umaga"Fatu former 2 time IC Champion dies at age 36....

This has to be a devastating loss to the Wrestling community in general and of course to the Samoan Pro-Wrestling community especially as well..Eki Fatu was an incredible athlete and performer in this squared circle which combines both Sport and Theatre...His amazing athleticism and mobility which was so fluid that was nothing short of incredible to say the least....The talent that he demonsrated when stepping in the ring was like poetry in motion for a man his size...This ability brought him 2 IC Title reigns and a huge Wrestlemania high profile match against Bobby Lashley in a hair vs. hair, McMahon vs. Trump Spectacle that put him very high in the spotlight for that years Wrestlemania spectacular...Althought he lost that match his performance as usuall was very impressive as it always was from his devastating high impact moves to his breathless leap from the Top Rope that saw him fly like an eagle with spectacular hang time that was second only to Superfly Jimmy Snuka...Two words: Simply Amazing....This is a tremendous loss for Fatu and Anoai Families...My deepest condolences to all Family members for their loss and like me, I'm sure that they will keep in there hearts and minds the incredible human being that he was while he was present in this world that we share...Rest in Peace Umaga and thank you for the unforgetable breathtaking memories.....

Couture wins in UFC...Pacqiao wins WBO Title making it 7 Titles...Amazing...

Randy Couture once again begins new win streak by defeating Vera last night in what many calling a very close fight...He got the nod from all 3 judges in this 3 round bout by unanimous decision...It appears that he is being groomed once again to gompete for the Title at a later date...46 years old and kicking harder than the younger boys in the game...
Brock Lesnar is out indefinitely due to severe health issues, Dana White will be flying to Minnesota to have a clear understanding on how serious this is involving the current UFC Heavyweight Champ...Apparently Lesnar went to Canada to recover where he owns a lot of land and he collapsed, he was then rushed to the hospital where they did multiple blood tests and they discovered something more serious then they anticipated...Details were not released but White said he was in real bad shape...Really bad...They will be flying Lesnar perhaps to the Mayo Clinic here in the states to determine treatment possibilities....Rodrigo Noguiera has also been hospitilized with a severe staph infection taking him out of UFC 108......
In Pro-Boxing news Pacqiao won last night by scoring a 12 round TKO over Cotto to win his 7th Title in multiple weight divisions, this guy can not be stopped....

Both fighters made weight for tonight's main event in England, both at 204 lb. the Natural appears to be poised to get this win coming down in weight and looking more fit then I have seen him in quite some time...I feel that there is no way he can lose to Vera in tonight's main event but hey this is MMA and you just never know what can happen...The following are is the card for tonight's event:1. Randy Couture(204) vs. Brandon Vera(204) 2. Dan Hardy(171) vs. Mike Swick(170) 3.Michael Bisping(186) vs. Denis Kang(185) 4.Matt Brown(170) vs. James Wilkes(169) 5.Ross Pearson(156) vs. Aaron Riley(155) Solid lineup for tonight's show......Hope these guys deliver...I'm sure they will...as far as attendance is concerned the gate will draw $2.14 million breaking a record....Good luck to all...

Fedor defeats Rogers in spectacular fashion...

Last night was a gift to all MMA fans watching CBS to see if all the hype was true, It was certainly that...A great night of fighting was presented by Strikeforce MMA from Top to Bottom but lets discuss the main event here...First and foremost the Top Dog without a Title yet and I do mean yet, Fedor Emelianenko was cut immediately with a quick jab by Rogers who came out to fight on this night and bolster a 10-0 record so far, big man with a greater reach then the russian bear, however after being cut and blood gushing from the bridge of his nose within seconds after the beginning of the first round and a barrage of punches after landing on his back it appeared the Fedor was not going to get past this, within seconds however he recovered his stance and basically dilevered a solid punch that left Rogers dazed, clearly the russian was not going down without a fight...Nothing but solid shots from both combatantants, this was a great MMA contest with nothing being held back from either one, however, when the second round began Fedor hit rogers with a solid straight punch to the jaw that sent the big man to the mat with a blow that appeared to have come all the way from Russia that connected BIG TIME....Rogers went down and Fedor followed with two more shots that left no alternative but to have the ref call it ...Fedor is one heck of a beast to handle in the cage to say the least, how I wish Dana White could have gotten this guy to sign with UFC so the fans would have the previlidge of seeing Lesnar vs. Fedor for the Heavyweight belt...That would be something really amazing to watch and certainly a real challenge for Lesnar at this point...Hey, Strikeforce vs. UFC, why not.....One can only hope....Great presentation of hard hitting MMA performances for this CBS special....Hats off to promoters, producers and especially the fighters...Excellent stuff for fight and Sports Entertainment fans, really looking forward to the next one with anticipation.....

Hulk Hogan signs w/TNA...Official anouncement made today at Madison Square Garden press conference....

Today, The Hulkster made it official in a manner that was very unexpected and unprecedented by announcing his new affiliation with TNA Pro-Wrestling at his book signing at Madison Square Garden in New York where he initially defeated the Iron Sheik to capture his very first WWE Championship and while as Champion along with Mr T defeated Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff in the very first Wrestlemania so many years ago..How Ironic..But quite surprising...He along with Eric Bishof will in fact be part of TNA, What does this mean for current TNA World Champion AJ Styles and how will his influence and personna mesch with the current roster as it stands now...Only time will tell...I have to say though that the shock value alone is extremely interesting to say the least...I hope it is beneficial overall for the company...For what ever reason I believe that it will be...One can only hope that the Hulksters name recognition will make it all better...I hope they focus on Pro-Wrestling the Sport as they gain a larger viewership and that Styles maintains ownership of the belt for sometime to come....

Shane McMahon resigns from WWE affective 1/1/2010...Possible MMA Indeavor in his future business plans...

It's been a while since my last blog and a lot has occured in both Pro-Wrestling and in the MMA world...There are new World and WWE Champions crowned..In MMA, Brock Lesnar's new challenger (Carwin) has been trash talkin left and right in the attempts of generating heat and selling in his own right the upcoming PPV making him a worthy contender which in my opinion he is not unless he can of course do what appears to be impossible and actually defeat Lesnar...Frankly, if he can step up and give him a good fight I would be impressed but I don't see it happening...He talks a good talk though.....I'm really looking forward to this one because to quote former WCW Champion Bill Goldberg......YOUR NEXT.....With that said and in mentioning Goldberg, He reportedly rejected an invitation to tour Australia with the Hulkamania tour due to him believing that Hogan wants to keep all the money...His words not mine...Shamefull due to the fact that Pro-Wrestling is why he is even known at all...So much for giving back to the fans or the sport...Now, lets talk about: here comes the money(Shane McMAHON)...To the sudden surprise of all WWE fans and staff apparently...He has handed in a written resignation effective 1/1/2010 with the element of other business ventures being the reason as to why he resigned...Speculation has 2 scenarios as to why this is....1. He will be helping his Mom to get into the Senate with her campaign.....2. He will be buying or starting an MMA affeliation in which he will actually be able to compete with the now dominating UFC in PPV buyrates....Something that I am very sure is bothersome to Vince McMahon sr. as to why they can not compete with the ever growing popular MMA world....Shane has been seen at many MMA events and he apparently is a huge fan, that's not surprising, it is the evolution of Pro-Wrestling especially since the suites and the decision makers have watered down the business as much as they have and since they have made certain things behind the scenes so apparent that it leaves absolutely very little to the imagination, I wish kayfabe wasn't dead so to speak...Personnally I believe that taking all that into affect is what really hurt their overall PPV buyrates as compared to UFC PPV buyrates...They still dominate the TV ratings but in PPV buyrates the competition is destroying them....So the only way to compete with that is to get in the game and I hope that Shano Mac will rise to the occassion as far as that is concerned...We can only wait and see because nothing is for certain at this point....Personnally I feel that WWE made a huge mistake by going to a PG rating, this a Pro-Wrestling that was at it's best during the Austin/Rock era....Go back to what works after Linda is or is not elected to the senate to make Pro-Wrestling the incredible event that it use to be....And another thing...How can you get huge PPV buyrates when week after week you see all the participants especially the top Champs on TV for free technically Wrestling their opposition in some form or another...Vince, have you forgotten the basic fundamentals of being able to generate interest and draw capability?...Look back in time...I'm sure you'll figure it out....When a Summerslam can not generate at least half a million buys...YOU ARE DEFINITELY DOING SOMETHING WRONG...PERIOD....Best of luck to Shane...I hope this McMahon will have the grapefruits that Vince use to have to actually give UFC the competative counter that the WWF use to have......Tommorrow night TNA Wrestling presents Against All Odds on PPV with AJ Styles defending the TNA World Championship...This guy can really Wrestle(as in Sport) hope nothing gets in the way of that....Congrats to AJ for finally getting the top belt in the fed...He has earned the right to it because he backs it up in the ring literally every time.....A true Physically gifted Champion......Until next Blog....When, I am not sure.........

Nogueira gets decision over Couture last saturday night...however Couture signs 6 fight deal with UFC prior to event...

Randy Couture certainly does deserve praise for his current accomplishment that despite losing via a 3 round judges decision to Nogueira he certainly demonstrated that he still has the ability, stamina and endurance to go up against the toughest in UFC with his age certainly not having any relivence at this point...
By the time this current contract expires(28 months) he will be 47 years old...
Who other than Couture can actually do this legitimately? Who knows at this part of the game..
Nogueira however should in fact get his Title shot against Lesnar, if Lesnar successfully can keep the Belt after facing Garwin in this upcomong Title defence....
In regards to that all I can say is that based on size Brocks challenger certainly does fit the bill better than anyone so far....Let's see what happens with that.....

Summerslam 2009 was a classic..4 Titles defended successfully and CM Punk defeats Jeff Hardy to win World Title...

It was truly an epic Summerslam this year with over 17,000 live in attendence and I would expect at least 500,000 buys around the world this evening this past sunday night where the performers showed the true athletic ability that these incredible athlete's posses with a few twists that frankly, made no sence at all...
John Cena vs. Randy Orton was an awesome physical encounter with Orton showing how a ring general takes and maintains control of a pro-wrestling match...His flawless execution of every single move dilevered to Cena was what every Wrestler should attempt to demonstrate and aspire to as he or she are placed in that squared circle to do battle, however the problem here was that after an exceptional match from both competitors the finish took away from the legitimate physicality of this contest....
It completely thru the live crowd off from a match that was awesome to say the least...They were completely into this encounter chanting for Orton and Cena when they both struck each other with whatever they inflicting on one another to then finish an incounter this special with the constant re-start of the match due to (1st) Orton pushing the ref, getting DQ'd then re-start by McMahon orders...Coming back and getting a pin on Cena with the assisstance of the ropes of course, again a re-start, then Cena puts his submission on full throttle and as Orton was about to tap out, a memeber of the crowd jumps on the ref(who turned out to be Brent Debiase, Ted's other son)who then was escorted out by security...This gave Orton another opportunity to close the deal and he did so quite well in fact, hitting Cena with his finisher and getting the 3 count for the win...my question is why all the unnessessary drama, why?
Lets review the card: Rey mysterio vs. Dolph Ziggler excellent match with Rey winning it once again and keeping the IC Title...
M V P beat Jack Swagger.....Y2J and Big Show retain the undisputed Tag Titles against Cryme Tyme...Kane pinned Khalie....The return of DX was simply amazing with their entrance stealing the show as far as I'm concerned, it envolved a breggade of soldiers shooting off their guns into the air and then HHH & HBK coming out on a tank..Awesome...They had one amazing match with Legacy.....Both Debiase and Rhoades were at their best and controlled most of the match, their work on this given night was flawless, truly incredible to watch, however in the end HBK hit Rhoades with sweet chin music for the win....Hats off to Legacy who really upped their game for this one....
The ECW Title match was over as soon as it began with Regal getting pinned in less then 10 seconds by Christian...
The Main Event of the evening was just that in a nut shell...Simply put: THE MAIN EVENT as Jeff Hardy defended the World Title against CM Punk in a TLC match... This was an Epic encounter that may never be duplicated due the amazing physicality envolved with all the hits, falls, slams, tables, ladders, chairs and the close finishers in an attempt to reaching that 10 pounds of gold, incredible to watch all the way to the final ascending attempt up the ladder with Punk winnig it and Hardy taking a huge bump...But that was not all...The lights went out as the new champ stood over a beaten Hardy...When the lights came back on, The Undertaker emerged from where Hardy had laid just seconds prior to that...What a way to close the show...Let's just say that Punk has The Dead Man to soon deal with in the near future as he chokeslammed CM and left him laying to the delite an amazement of the crowd....Awesome show with The WWE Title match(the finish only)as the exception....Congrats to all the athletes especially Hardy and Punk and the WWE for an excellent PPV......

Angle maintains ownership of TNA Title this past sunday night..Shoots down charges filed against him...

On sunday night Kurt Angle was successful in defeating both Sting and the 3rd party involved in their triple threat match at the TNA's PPV...Why you ask do I not mention the 3rd parties name? Because it is not important at this time...And let's leave it at that...
What is important however is Angle having the ability to clear his name and with the win at the PPV it appears that he has the confidence of TNA....
Now lets look at the aweful scenario that plague's him and how he may be able to fix this problem...
He has by all accounts suffered from a personal level quite a few difficulties this past year but on the bright side has finally gotten a custody arrangement with his kids...
If he can focus on that full hartedly all else should fall into place...That in itself can be the building blocks to strenghten all else..Kids have this innocent magical ability to do that, they really do...
Secondly, he should without question do everything in his power within the confinds of the law to discredit this aweful opportunist that has brought this unfortunate situation to the forefront of his life...Can you imagine being removed from your home because someone makes false accusations when legally they should have no right to even be there...What a joke, and it appears that the male in these situations always is the guilty party, whether they are guilty or not...It's rediculous....This Rhaka Khan in not even his spouse, has no ownership rights to his home and because allegedly she made false accusations and filed a protection order against angle that from his account of events followed him into the parking lot where she claims he was stalking her(video footage apparently proves it)she has some right to have him arrested? Unbelievable..
Angle, one week prior to this incident requested she leave his residence, he went as far as calling police to have her removed, she then took the phone from him and he did not follow thru with it, however it is documented that he did make that attempt...One week later she files this bogus claim and has him arrested, and he is now banned from going to his own home, all this under false pretences and she gets away with it...Where is the law?...Oh yeah, the arresting officer said to Angle that she beat him to it...Again, unbelievable...If she is not being truthful, they should arrest her and throw away the key...As they say: Karma is a bitch.....

Kurt Angle arrested on saturday for harrasment & a suspended license due to a previous DUI..Was released on bail..Will defend TNA Title Tonight..

Kurt Angle has been dealing with his own demons obviously in recent times...He got into an altercation with TNA founder Jeff Jarret due to him dating Kurt's ex-spouse...Which led to Jarret leaving for an indisclosed amount of time due to that very altercation...
He was currentlty envolved with another female employee of TNA who yesterday morning filed a restraining order against him, then later called police stating that angle was circling the parking lot of the starbucks that she was in...Police then later arrested Angle for having a suspended drivers licence and apparently growth hormone and other paraphenalia in his car to which he admited were legally perscribed...He was granted bail and was released and allowed to travel to the PPV venue where tonight he defends the TNA World Title against Sting and Matt Morgan in a 3 way match....My guess is that Sting will pin Morgan to now reign as the new Champion once again...We'll have to wait and see...In the midst of all this he was supposed to make a re-assurgence back to WWE to cap of his very accomplished Pro-Wrestling career...What will this bring in regards to a return? That is the big picture question right now as well...Angle now 40 will report to court this coming tuesday morning to face these charges...

Cris Cyborg Santos wins first ever Ladies Title beating Carano in the 1st round with one second left....

Last night we all saw the devastating power that Brazilian powerhouse Cris Cyborg Santos has developed into to become the first ever Pro MMA Female Champion when she defeated Gina Carano with one second left in the 1st round after a barrage of punches were un-answered while on the ground in a fetal position, the ref appeared to have no choice but to stop the fight, however one has to question with one second left why not let it go one more round to really see if Gina would then come back with a refreahed approach to combat this Brazilian amazon....It was an exciting momment that perhaps was cut short but the ref was simply doing his job effectively and Carano was obviously ill prepared on this given night and out performed by Cyborg...For Strikeforce it was truly a historic evening having 2 female fighters headline the event and seeing 3 Titles change hands on premium Cable Channel Showtime...Congratulations to all the athletes first and foremost and to Strikeforce and Showtime on what I believe will be a viewer success...Gina, your a fighter and a great Athlete, what do they say, back to the drawing board, I assume she will be back and better....And to the new Champion Cyborg who speaks my very own native tongue(portuguesse) Parabems e boa sorte....

MMA Strikeforce League presents Carano vs. Cyborg for the Ladies Championship tommorrow night on showtime...

The Ladies do battle for the Title in the main event scheduled for saturday night and I have to say that I am waiting with increasing anticipation to see how this match will play out and what these 2 ladies will look like in the end...Carano is drop dead gorgeous with an athletic background and ability that is quite evident in previous matches that she has won(all of them in fact)...She has a regorous training program (her trainer:Satan)that will have her well prepared for this event tommorrow night...Cyborg(Cris Santos)is probably the most agressive female MMA Fighter that I have ever seen compete in this sport and her display of fighting ability will be the toughest that has been brought to the table thus far facing Carano..I wish both competitors all the best in this record breaking main event finally putting womans MMA on the map in a huge high profile event...That is well deserved...Back on Sunday with new blog on the main event...Good luck to all involved....

Hardy wins World Title...Christian wins ECW Title...Mickey James wins Divas Title...

A sold out crowd on Sunday night went nuts when Jeff Hardy became the new World heavyweight Champion by pinning CM Punk to capture the gold in the city of brotherly love...
It was awesome on this night to be a part of this historic event and the fans showed their support relentlessly especially for the main event...Punk and Hardy both worked very hard and had numerous exchanges to make it @ least a 4 star match in my opinion...I certainly hope that Hardy can maintain the Title for some time but as I stated before his in ring work is so high impact that I can not see him holding the belt for too long...It's inevidable that his performances in defence of the belt will take their toll...I do expect a huge Summerslam defence...Now who will his opponent be?
Randy Orton managed to get by both HHH and Cena with the assisstance of Legacy to hold on to the WWE Title, at one point prior to the end of the match he was placed in two different submission holds by both opponents at the same time and he tapped out then the ref realized that he could not call the match because he would have to award the match to both HHH and Cena, that's when Legacy came out to cause a little disturbance giving Orton the ability to nail his finisher on Cena for the pin with Cody Rhoades on his back....2 and a half star match at best...I like a one on one contest for the Belt...
Mickey James has got to be the best in ring female performer by far, she proved it by winning the Divas Title beating Marysse(very sexy young lady)..
The BIG surprise was Big Show being named Chris Jericho's partner to be the unified Tag Title holders and they defeated Legacy to maintain ownership of the Belts...
The IC Title was also defended and kept by the amazing Rey Mysterio which was probably the best match of the night aside from Hardy/Punk.....
The six pack challenge for the US Title was also defended and kept by Kofi Kingston who is an amazing athlete as well...The ECW Title changed hands as Christian defeated Tommy Dreamer for the belt in the city that EXTREME was born in, when it was transfered from Eastern Championship Wrestling at the Arena on Swanson & Ritner St's under I95 some 16 years ago..Very memorable times for me back then...And the WWE Womens Title was also defended successfully by the current Champion Michelle Mckool defeating Melina(pretty physical ladies match)...All in all it was a great night in Philly, congrats to all the atheletes and WWE of course....

WWE Night of Champions..All Titles up for grabs...

For those lucky enough to have ringside seats(face value $300) for tommorrow nights PPV event originating from the Wachovia Center in Philly, we are all in for one heck of an event to say the least...
I certainly hope that WWE and it's athletes can deliver an acceptional and memorable Pro-Wrestling card for the Philly fans(whom are the most demanding)and a huge worldwide audience around the globe.
I am making this very brief and to the point. There will be new champions crowned in the city of brotherly love, with all the Titles being defended in one night it is a given that this will occur, the question is which Titles?
For the World Heavyweight Championship I would like to see Jeff Hardy walk away with the Belt and begin another run as one of the 2 top Title holders in WWE....His ability to display the incredible high flying assault that he possesses is truly acceptional to see but if he wins the Belt tommorrow night how long can he go at the pace that he wrestles with defending the Title against all the top dogs gunning for the Belt and the spot?
The physical demands everytime he steps in the ring is inhuman, the impact every night literally will take it's toll in short order because if he wins he will then have that title to defend and the demands in the ring as well as the travel neccessary to be the man will be excruciating to have to deal with, if he can stay healthy and injury free, it will be one awesome Title run....Best of luck to him tommorrow night regardless....For this match and all the matches I will give my full report on tuesday afternoon...Check it out.....

Lesnar destroyes Mir as predicted and keeps UFC Heavyweight Title...Gains undisputed status as he did in WWE...

The Next Big Thing displayed his fierce dominance once again by literally pummeling the crap out of Frank Mir last night in what I have to say was the best UFC PPV in some time, defenitely worth the $45. and the co. last night had a lot to do with it too, the boys and I made it a great night...Thanks fellas....
I predicted that Brock would end it before the first round was over, but it only took a very short time into the second round for him to close the deal and he did so very convincingly which to the MMA crowd's disappointment had no relevance to Lesnar, he thanked the fans at the Las Vegas venue by flipping them with both fingers after the fight...
As Rohgan said it best, he relishes being the HEEL..A very significant Pro-Wrestling term....
I wonder how Vince feels about that..LOL....
You have to give him credit..With a record of only 4-1 he defeated the large asian fighter in another MMA league to win his 1st match...Then came to UFC and pummeled Mir but lost by being outsmarted when Mir caught him in an ankle lock...Then he wins his next fight by beating the tough texan(at least he gave him a fight)...Then beats a True Living Legend in Randy Couture with the most experienced background of all his opponents to capture the Belt and now destroys Mir and gets some serious revenge for his only MMA loss and captures the undisputed Claim to the Heavyweight crown...Un-freaken-believable...WOOOOOOO...You gotta love it....
Until Orton in WWE won the World Title he was the youngest to have ever done so...But still not even Orton has the distinction of holding both belts...Only Brock and Jericho can claim that....
He appears to be unstoppable and I think right now that the only MMA fighter equal to the ability that Lesnar posesses is Bobby Lashley and I'm not saying that just because he was also an accomplished amateur and Pro-Wrestler but simply because of size and strength...Factor that in and the answer is simple...Dana White do what you do best...Make it happen.....I gotta say congrats to Lesnar for shutting Mir up...He deserved it for his heavy trash talkin...
In other matches St. Pierre won his fight with a decision over Alves to keep the belt in the most technical of all the matches last night...Got give it to the brazilian though, he demonstrated true skill by how he was able to snake himself out of various situations where he was on his back, defended against stikes while on his back as well...Amazing....Henderson chasing after Besping was pretty entertaining especialy when he caught him with a seriously planted right hand knocking the crap out of the brit...Then did a jumping finisher to seal the deal...PUNCHES OF THE NIGHT...WITHOUT QUESTION.....Also a good fight was Akiyama defeating Belcher with both fighters demonstrating a great exchange...Hats off to UFC and the fighters for a great show....

Lesnar vs. Mir II this saturday night for the UFC Heavyweight Title...

Brock Lesnar in an incredible athlete and that's putting it mildly.....I think that he learned a valuable lesson last time they fought(he and Mir)......
Just 2 matches later he becomes the Champ defeating a true living legend in Randy Couture(now in his mid 40's).....
I see Lesnar completely destroying Mir for what happened last time, we will not see an F5 deliveved of course, but I certainly expect Lesnar to end it quick...
If it goes past the 1st of 5 rounds I will be very amazed to see Mir fend off the next big thing as he was billed in WWE.....Let's not forget that Brock was a very accomplished amateur Wrestler winning a National Title to his credit....
In WWE of course he was awarded victories over all the top performers at that time accept Stone Cold Steve Austin....
He would not agree to sell a victory to Lesnar...Which led to Austin's departure the 1st time around from WWE....He would not participate in that creative endeavour...Way to go Stone Cold...
We however can not forget that he was only one of 2 men awarded the undisputed WWE/World Title and the youngest at that time to ever accomplish that.....
His work in a Pro-Wrestling ring was flawless, aggressive and incredible to watch....
Although the outcomes are generally scripted(specifically for the fans benefit) the actual physicality is very real...When a competator is given a suplex, backdrop, bodyslam, powerslam and yes an F5 which was Lesnar's finishing move there if no cushion, nothing but mat...
His unbelievable Strenth and size combined with the unparalelled ability is what will allow Lesnar to get through Mir and any adversary to come his way.....Period...
The only thing that can defeat this guy is allowing himself to get caught up in some kind of an ankle or arm submission....Mir did it once can he do it again? That's the question....After really being disappointed with Sapp's performance or lack there of against Lashley I certainly hope that this will be a good fight even though I don't feel it will go past the 1st round in Lesnar's favor....

It's official: triple threat match at Night of Champions for the WWE Title....Orton vs. Cena vs. HHH in Philly...

Last nights edition of Raw saw the WWE Title match determined to be a triple threat match to headline the Night of Champions in Philly later this month.
All three competitors will have a tough match ahead of them when they face each other in the city of brotherly love...NOT...
From a physically competative point of view an educated Pro-Wrestling observer would have to give this to Orton but knowing that this business has a lot to do with how popular a Wrestler is in determining a winner one can only say that Cena will likely walk out with the WWE strap. At this point I don't expect HHH to win the belt back just yet...We will have to see though...Philly fans are very demanding and being that this PPV will originate from this city you can only anticipate all hell breaking loose. For the World Heavyweight Title CM Punk will again defend against Jeff Hardy. I think that Hardy just might walk out the victor with the Belt in hand, his hi-flying assault and risk taking has to deliver this time.
The ECW Title has a very special place in this city as well, going back to the old ECW Arena days. Although the Title has gotten a different look in recent months the tradition has not changed completely. Tommy Dreamer(Champ) vs. Christian vs. Koslov should be an all out slobberknocker as JR would say. I expect Koslov to be the new Champ if he remains in this triple threat by match time, if not christian should win in Philly, this will really tick off all Philly fans seeing Dreamer lose it here.....Lets hope that WWE delivers a big time event suited for the Philly crowd, they will be expecting it, so will I.....Good luck to all participants in the 3 main matches......

Orton retains WWE Title at the Bash...Last nights Raw gives Cena & HHH possible shot at next PPV....

Sunday night Randy Orton maintained his status and the Title by beating HHH 2-1 in there 2 out of 3 fall match at the Bash. The 1st fall went to Orton when HHH took a chair to his head and lost the first fall by DQ. Second match saw HHH getting the pedigree on Orton and nailing it for the win...Third and final match saw Orton battling to keep the belt and he did so after what appeared to have been exausting to both men when at the end HHH found himself on the apron of the ring being hit by a charging Orton which catapulted him onto the stretcher and of course the catlike ability of Orton allowed him to run the stetcher past the line as HHH's momentum moved it in that direction in the first place, Orton still WWE Champion.
In other matches: ECW Title on the line that saw Finlay, Swagger, Christian, Henry and the Champ Tommy Dreamer go back in fourth w/ different Champs crowned in the midst of the match but in the end Dreamer had gotten the last pin to maintain ownership of the belt..The only original ECW member kept it.
IC Title saw Rey Mysterio once again have ownership of that belt in another spectacular match taking it from Jericho.
Khali beat Dolph Ziegler. John Cena beat the Miz by submission. For the WWE Ladies Title Michelle McCool beat Melina, these girls can really go in the ring, excellent athletic display.
World Heavyweight Title match saw Jeff Hardy get the win but not the belt after CM Punk got DQ'd for kicking the ref accidentally....Yeah...Beginning of heel turn...What a way to save the Title....All from the straight up guy...
And last night Batista had the role of GM and requested that four men do a tournament to determine the #1 contender for Orton's WWE Title: HHH vs. MVP which Mr. Levesque won and Cena vs. the Miz, of course Cena won.... For Cena most fans in attendance boo'd him all night even when cutting a promo in the back. Not a good town for Cena unless he is playing a heel role.
Next weeks Raw should be interesting with the Million Dollar Man Ted Debiase taking over the role of GM.

Lashley makes it 4-0...Destroys Sapp..Literally

Bobby Lashley simply pounded Sapp till he tapped. In a little more than three minutes to end what many expected to be a very challenging MMA PPV. Becoming a force certainly to be reaconed with in what I call an extended evolution of Pro-Wrestling. Although the actual MMA fight may have been preconcieved only the two fighters will really know but it was a classic beatdown, physically Sapp was completely dominated with a powerful takedown then a heavy duty barrage of elbows, forearms, and punches that Sapp appeared to literally have no offense.
Now lets see if Dana White(MMA's Vince) can capitalize on what Lashley brings to the table in this incredible sport.
If he books a match between Brock & Lashley it would probably draw more PPV buys than any other PPV event ever.
Wow........ 2 former Pro-Wrestlers with actual accomplishments in WWE outdraw MMA, Boxing or Pro-wrestling PPV's...That would have to tell the REAL sports world that Pro-Wrestlers are incredible athletes...Shocking huh....What would they do? A scripted sports performers topping the box office in regards to all combat sports.(scripted or not) Maybe then the critics and skeptics that don't seem to know how to appreciate the art of Pro-Wrestling would have to give them their due, probably not but one can hope.
I think that the real winners would have to be the fans overall because both Lesnar and Lashley would give them their money's worth...Think about it, what a matchup that would be. Their both built like true ring warriors, they both have incredible strength and legitimate backgrounds in Mat and Pro-Wrestling.
Since most MMA press focus only on their accomplishments prior to their Pro-Wrestling years let me focus on their accomplishments in the Ring.
Lesnar was only one of two men to ever hold the WWE undisputed championship(Chris Jericho being the other)and his arsenal of moves and incredible athleticism for someone his size was unbelievable to watch.
Lashley held the ECW Title and displayed the same characteristics that brock possesed in the ring with size and flexibility, however Brock has to be given the edge when it comes to fluid motion and execution...I would love to see these two in the Octagon, it would be incredible...C'mon Dana White...Put it together for the fans and ultimately UFC's bank account and of course the competitors pockets......

Kurt Angle once again reigns as TNA World Champion...

Last night at Slamiversary the king of the mountain match( 1 of 2) saw the former olympic gold medalist once again capture the gold with assistance from Samoa Joe to become the new Champ.I'm actually schocked that Angle walked away with the belt because of rumors that he will be leaving TNA in the near future to rejoin the ranks of WWE possibly to close out his Pro-Wrestling career, lets say by september, but then again it's only rumor not fact.By all accounts the main event was a spectacular one, very physical, even Mick Foley took a massive bump to add to the exchanges, but I have to question why Samoa Joe did what he did, scripted or not, isn't winning the belt the ultimate goal in a championship match?Which of course leaves the question as to why did he assist Angle in winning it? Makes no sence whatsoever. Don't get me wrong here, the event was spectacular, but the goal is to win, not to give it away, Samoa Joe did just that, for what a spot in M.E.M. , BULLSHIT....Perhaps now with Angle at the helm, we may get some competative Title defenses in the near future, one can only hope. Also beer$$ got the Tag Titles back from team 3D...Suicide kept the X-Division Title in a spectacular match that almost stole the show....Sting beat Matt Morgan...Abyss won the Monsters Ball match...All in all a pretty good show but I have to question the logic of deciding a World Champ under these conditions, I don't like it and I certainly wish that it would change in the sense that the TNA World Title should be defended in singles competition, period.......

Sunday night the TNA Title is on the line....Foley, Jarret, Angle, Styles and Samoa Joe do battle in 5 man match...

The main event on sunday night has all the talent neccessary to make this a great 5 man match.
The winner of course gets to wear the prestigious TNA Gold. As I've stated before I honestly believe that the Title should be decided between two competitors, but apparently this notion has fallen on deaf ears, It appears that TNA match makers are giving the formerly retired and now new Champ Mick Foley a way to actively defend the Title in high profile PPV matches in a way where his work in the ring may be limited due to others always participating in what I believe to be a travesty to all Cactus Jack fans.
He has not defended the Title in singles competition since defeating Sting in Philly in a stunning win, I was at ringside, it was truly Epic to be there that night.
But since the Lockdown PPV every month the Title is defended in a fourway, fiveway, anyway but the right way, I feel.
Slammiversary is unique and in it's seventh year, a great accomplishment for TNA.
It's hard to pick a winner here, but Chances are that Foley will end up with the Title yet again.
In other matches: Team 3D will defend the TNA Tag Titles against Beer$$, if it ends up like the brawl in Philly a few months back, it should be a slobber knocker.
For the TNA X-Division Title: The Champ Suicide(phenominal aerialist) defends against J. Lethal, Cons Creed, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley. The athlete's and there ability acceptional by all standards.
and Christopher Daniels whom I though was Suicide(apparently not) vs. Shane Douglas the original:Franchise. I hope he gets his spot on the talent roster for at least a little while, with his experience he certaily does deserve at least that much. Sting vs. Morgan
Abyss vs. Raven
The ladies: A. Love vs. Tara.
All the talent envolved in this event is a combination of some great pro's, will they deliver?? that's the question, full report on monday, check it out.

Mitsuharu Misawa dies after taking lethal suplex...

This past saturday night Pro Wrestling great Mitsuharu Misawa was incapacitated in the ring after his opponent Akitoshi Saito executed a suplex which left Misawa unconscious.
Apparently this Japanesse Legend was not able to tuck his head properly when this move was executed and suffered damage to his cervical spinal cord, a doctor in attendance and EMT's attempted to use an AED in an unending attempt to start his heart but were unsuccessful.Misawa made his pro debut in 1981 under ring name Tiger Mask II and was very popular for a 6 year term before unmasking and utilizing his real name which even increased his popularity more, he was regarded in Japan by the same standards as Hulk Hogan is regarded here in the U.S. to Wrestling fans. His ring arsenal was extremely hard hitting and ironically the suplex was a signature move that he often utilized to the appreciation of the crowd and Wrestlers alike.Misawa was to turn 47 years old on june 18 but it was not to be because on this fateful night in front of a live crowd of about 2300 the Japanesse legend would unfortunately say goodbye to all Wrestling fans and Wrestlers alike doing what he loved to do performing and competing in the sport and art form that he loved. The last death in Japan in a Pro Wrestling ring was back in 2000 when Masakasu Fukuda died after a severe head stike ended his life, he was only 27 years old.To all fans and non-fans alike this should be a wake up call on the serious nature that is Pro Wrestling and how REAL the hazards are when these athletes compete and perform for there entertainment. My sincere condolensces to the family of Mr. Misawa and to all fans around the world that had the honor of seeing this great Japanesse star exibit his craft...Rest in Peace Mr. Misawa.

WWE Title on the line tonight in a four way main event...

Tonight on RAW the WWE Title is up for grabs again with the participants being Randy Orton, HHH, Big Show and John Cena. Who will win the belt?
I feel that at this point only HHH will once again wear the Gold, but Cena on any given night in WWE with his vast popularity can also represent the fed with the Title.
Randy Orton by far has to be the most skilled of the four from a Wrestling perspective and Big Show is simply just a huge presence.
I am not a big fan of a major Championship being decided like this but under the circumstances this fourway tonight is appropriate.
The 3 hour WWE production tonight will have all three brands represented with there respective Champions making their defence of all major Titles.
We can only wait with anticipation to see how the night ends and who will be the Title holders come tuesday morning. Best of luck to all the participants, I can hope that this will end up being a very physical display of athleticism to determine the top dogs going forward towards the very next PPV.

Batista wins the WWE Crown but suffers another muscle injury....

I'm happy for Batista, he was able to defeat Randy Orton in a dominent and Quick manner last night in the cage, however another muscle injury may end his reign quickly.
From the opening of Raw tonight, Orton & his posey really focused on that left arm, apparently Batista was taken to a local medical facility after the beatdown inflicted by Orton, Debiase & Rhoades. The main event will turn out to be a re-match from last night with Orton emposing his rematch clause immediately and it was agreed to by the power that be for Raw tonight.
The show concluded with Orton waiting to be given the Title back due to forfeit the ref started the 10 count but stopped at 8 due to an ambulance being viewed on the arena big screen as cameras shot in a running mode making there way back to where the bright lights were flashing,
guess who appeared? No not Rick Flair but none other than HHH with a sledge hammer in hand, he then made his way to the ring and adminestered one hell of a beatdown on Orton, they took it to the audience, all over the arena floor and back to the ring where HHH took a chair off of Orton and hit him with it at least 6 times before dogging him with the pedigree on the chair.
I gotta tell you this was great WWE tv, awesome hard hitting display of violence which was as much a surprise to me as it was to just about everyone in attendance, the crowd was nuts over this. An excellent PPV last night and a great Raw tonight back to back, Great job to all involved.

WWE presents Extreme Rules PPV tommorrow night...

Every match on sunday night is a rematch from previous PPV's with a twist....
Dave Batista vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Title. In the cage this should prove to be a brawl to say the least...Batista is possibly approaching the last year of WWE competition. He has an excellent opportunity to win the Title he's never held before. Problem here is that Orton is in his prime, younger, 5 star technician in the ring and he can present himself as a very believable heel. Not to mention his technical wrestling ability which exceeds any other performer at this time. To lose to Batista at this point would be a travisty, he was pinned by Batista on Raw a few
weeks ago in a tag match due to Nature Boys appearance that night..I don't think a distraction will do it at this point, Let's hope not anyway.
Edge vs. Jeff Hardy in a ladder match for the World Title will be the night that Jeff becomes the new World Title holder, his high flying offense will practically insure that, now that this is a ladder match which he will certainly take advantage of . I predict that Hardy will win this.
ECW Title will be decided in a triple threat match between the Champ: Christian, Swagger & Tommy Dreamer. Tommy really needs to win this one to insure resigning a WWE contract. His current contract expires very soon, I unfortunitely do not see it happening.
Now for the IC Title again Rey Mysterio will face Chris Jericho in a NO HOLDS BARRED match.
This match should end up all over the building, my pick for this has got to be Jericho with Rey possibly getting re-injured.
The US Title on the line, the Champ Kofi kingston who won the Belt this past monday night in a stunning victory over the challenger now MVP should be a very fast paced match which will put Kofi in a position to truly exhibit his highflying full impact offense, should be a classic in it's own right.
Cena vs. Big Show in a submission match, somehow I see Cena ending it with the STF, don't ask me how, but if anyone in WWE can do that to Big show it will be Cena.
Then we have Umaga vs. CM Punk in a Samoan Strap Match. This one should be brutal...This may end up being one heck of an Extreme event after all, we'll have to wait and see...

Orton continues getting burried by WWE writers...

The WWE Universe continues to watch there Champion repeatedly placed in situations where they are simply discrediting his physical ability to compete and perform on WWE TV.
After getting a clean win to become the Champ he has been placed in situations with Vince, where he was beaten up by the chairman for a brief momment, He has been placed in a feud with Shane, where he sold a heavy beatdown(he's not even an active Wrestler) and this past monday night Raw he was placed in a situation where he was bloodied by the now retired Nature Boy Rick Flair(now 60 years old), what in the world are they thinking?
We're talking about the WWE Champion here, the top dog in the fed and he's being used in this manor, how is any adult that enjoys Pro-Wrestling supposed to take this crap seriously when you take your top guy and mis use him like this. Rediculous. Writers get a freaken clue and allow Orton(our Champ) and utilize his God given talent in a competetive manor, he's an awesome athlete, stop the B S and book him properly.
With all the talent in WWE, it shoudn't be that hard to do. Get a clue people.
And I mean no disrespect to Flair here, to do what he still can do in a physical capacity speaks volumes of THE MAN, his mic work is acceptional to say the least but he is not the Nature Boy of the 80's & 90's.
The WWE Champion should be handling himself in a competitive manor, and when you put him in a position to get busted up like he did @ the hands of the owner, the owners kid and a now a retired 60 year old former Wrestler, your simply discrediting the value of the Title and the Title holder, period..........

Flair gets astounding ovation @ ROH TV tapings...

The Nature Boy was in Philly last night as advertised before episodes 13 thru 15 were taped for HDnet.
The rowdy enthusiatic crowd in s. Philly was on it's feet giving him an incredible ovation.
Flair was very gracious to the fans by telling them that 3 months prior he came to ROH to be their embassador, and he was honest in his intentions to go back to WWE.
The crowd responded very admirably by continuing with cheers as opposed to booing Flair's intentions, very classy momment from the very loud Philly crowd.
Naiche said that he loves Philly fans for their support and that there enthusiam is incredible, He also requested that they continue supporting ROH Wrestling because the athlete's work very very hard.
All the matches were pretty awesome, some truly epic in Physical performance....That's ROH...

Nature Boy returns to Phillly on friday night for ROH TV tapings....

On may 29th Rick Flair will be @ the Arena @ Swanson & Ritner st's in south Philly for ROH's 3 TV tapings.
He will undougbtably bring the Whooooooo back to the city of brotherly love.
Can't wait to see what role he will be playing in regards to the event on friday night. It's very uncommon for any Pro-Wrestler that is working for the WWE to have the ability to work for independents @ the same time.
Truth is that Flair has earned that right, over and beyond any other performer.
The 16 time NWA/WWE/WORLD Champion may not be physically capable of competing any longer(now 60 years old) but his presence alone demands $20k for any appearence he makes anywhere, whether it's a Wrestling event or an autograph signing, very impressive.
Even @ his age he still can get in the ring and work better than many that are younger than he is....He has admitedly kept his training in check on a daily regiment stating that he works out w/his son Reed just about every day.....I'll go back to a previous blog and again say this: Let Flair
compete for the NWA World heavyweight Championship @ an ROH PPV...You want a huge buyrate...That's your match.....It will be great to see him @ the Arena where I (@ that time known as Hansome Herve Renesto)wrestled Eddie Gilbert in a Chain match prior to him taking on Terry Funk for the King of Philly Crown some 16 years ago...I was beaten up pretty bad that night as a promo for the big match between him & Funk....What an experience that was...Crazy man...It made me look pretty bad but as nuts as this sounds:It was an honor.....Thanks Eddie.
Anyway ROH always focuses on the Sport of Wrestling which I admire and respect very much...Tommorrow night should be a blast....

Sting wins Ultimate Sacrifice match..Pinning kurt Angle...

Sting"Steve Borden" walked away with the win last night in the 4 man Ultimate Sacrifice Match in TNA'S PPV...The main event saw Kurt Angle take the pin relinquishing his M E M leader status....Mick Foley, the TNA World Champ kept the Title cause he was not pinned or submitted....I would personnally prefer that the TNA Title be defended in a one on one encounter...I feel it lowers the credibility of it's importance when you put the Title up for grabs and you have 4 men envolved...Jarret, Angle, Sting and Foley are all excellent performers...I however prefer a competitive 1 on 1 encounter when the Title is on the line...Nothing else..Ever...Should matter more.
In other important matches:AJ Styles defeated Booker T to retain the Legends Title...Booker would not give up in this I quit match..so J Morasco ran down the Isle and thru in the towel on Booker's behalf...Again where is the credibility factor here...If Booker did not quit, the ref should call it, after all what is he there for?
Suicide defeated Christopher Daniels to retain the X-Division Title...Initially Daniel's won...He was not happy w/the win(in the way it happened) so the ref extended the match an additional 5 minutes and Suicide got the win... Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash was probably the best cut & dry pro-wrestling match of the night....Joe defeated Nash via submission....TNA enough with the twists & turns...Too much B.S. and baggage....Let's give the fans competitive performances...With clean finishes...Period.....Focus on athleticism....You Know Pro-Wrestling!

Machida wins UFC LightHeavyweight Title...Now 15-0

Another exciting evening of MMA presented by UFC pits 2 undefeated fighters to the test w/the Title on the line...
But in the second round @ 3:57 seconds Lyoto Machida improves his undefeated record to 15-0 and captures the Ttile w/a spectacular left hand shot that dropped Evans then in an attempt to get up gets hammered w/more hits knocking him out and getting the win & the belt...Congrats to Machida....For Evans, he said he will be back and do better next time....
The grudge match pitting Matt Hughes against Matt Serra went the 3 rounds w/ Hughes getting a unnanimous decision for the win....
In other matches:Frank Edgar beat Sean Sherk w/ a 3 round unnanimous decision...
Khael Sonneri beat Dan miller by unnanimous decision in 3 rounds as well....
Drew McFrdries beat Xavier Foupa-Pokam by TKO in 37 seconds of the 1st round...
Krysztof Sosysnski beat Andre Gusmao by KO @ 3:17 in the 1st round....Next MMA event I am looking forward to seeing is Lashley vs. Sapp on June 27th....

UFC tonight presents Rashad Evans vs. Lyoto Machida for Lightheavyweight Title

Evans makes first Title defense tonight in Las Vegas which will be the very first fight ever in the 16 year existence of UFC to be determined with both competitors having zero losses...Some one will lose tonight....Which will leave only one man w/an un-blemished record....The whole PPV card from top to bottom will present great fighters...Lets hope that the build up delivers some good UFC entertainment...Matt Hughes vs. Matt Sierra may turn out to be the best match of the night featured as a grudge match.....All the fighters for this evenings event made weight so let the show begin......

Fit Finlay deserves to be Champion......

After watching last nights ECW on SciFi it could'nt be clearer... This guy essentially should have a belt around his waist....But I understand what WWE is doing here...Finlay is such an amazing competitor...His performance is built around a very solid, hard hitting style that quite frankly will deliver a serious and I mean serious beatdown.....If you can go with Finlay in the ring...Then you got the goods...period.....Last night's match against Davey Hart Smith was no acception....Solid shots from forearms to elbows to kicks...Hart was impressive....He handled the tough Irishman quite well....Delivering a running powerslam(his Dad's trademark finisher) outside the ring w/impact...It did not finish Finlay but it appeared to have slowed him down enough for Smith to maintain the upper hand for most of the match....Finlay's no punchs pulled offense did do it's usual damage but hart held on....Then w/a distraction from Tyson kid...Finlay really ran him(Tyson) into the baracade(awesome) followed by Natalia Neidhart tossing her boot to Smith...Finlay walked into one hell of a shot...His forehead and cut above the swollen eyelid after the match showed the impact of that shot...Smith got the 3 count & the win over this really tough Irishman(a huge push is in the works).....Finlay, turning 50 this year has more talent than 95% of the WWE roster(all three shows combined) even with this loss and others, yet no WWE/World or ECW Championships...Why??....He's freaken amazing in the ring....That's why he is placed against the younger guys to see if they can take the abuse and in essence pass the test torture @ finlay's hands...And that's for real.....Give this man the chance to really shine WWE..Finlay vs. Orton for the WWE Title, would probably deliver the most impactfull Title match of the year....Book it..PLEASE..Let's say SummerSlam.....

Mysterio retains IC Title..Defies Chicago crowd wishes...

You gotta give Rey credit....Sensational performance to retain the belt....You also have to hand it to Jericho...He adapted to the mexican lucha style so admirably which made it a very exciting match....Clearly the crowd wanted Y2J to take this...Heavy Jericho fan base in Chicago...But little Rey's ability dispite injury reported to have occured @ Smackdown Taping last tuesday night is a testament to how good he really is.....Let's see if he's able to keep the Title past Smackdown this week.....I really felt that Jericho would win it.....In fact all three other champs walk away w/ the belts....Got those right...Three out of four ain't bad....It's in the record books now..
Tonight's RAW will include the return of the Nature Boy w/Batista...Flair came out last night to clear the ring as Orton & Legacy beat him down...Tonight should give some direction as to how Flair will fit into the picture...Whoooooooooooooooo....Lookin forward to it..............

Bobby Lashley wins again now 3-0 in MMA...

Bobby Lashley made short work of his oppenent on friday night locking him up in a guilitine and putting him to sleep in just 24 seconds...Cook made multiple smart remarks prior to the match wearing a Rey Mysterio mask to the ring simply to undermine Lashley's success in WWE....
He held the ECW Title for a period of time and was clearly dominent in the Sports Intertainment field....Had a huge high profile Match @ Wresltemania 24 against Umaga that involved Vince McMahon & Donald Trump...Which he won....And just recently made an appearance in Philly @ TNA's Lockdown PPV...This guy is a naturally gifted athlete...Very well spoken and respectful both to MMA and Pro-Wrestling....Unlike others....
If Dana White from UFC could get of his high horse and book Lashley vs. Lesnar for the Title it sure would be something to see....I doubt that White would ever put 2 former Pro-Wrestlers in a main event match @ a UFC event...They might actually bring the biggest buy rate ever....For any PPV...But one can only hope....I certainly understand that Pro-Wrestling bookers decide who wins and loses..But in the end it ultimately benefits the fans....The performance that is delivered is done so by pure physical athletic ability and indurance..period....By the athlete's...And yes...Showman....The most successful whether in Pro-Wrestling or Boxing were Showman(Hogan, Ali)...Go figure....Anyway Congrats to Bobby...I truly do wish for him nothing but success...He certainly does deserve it....And he has shown so far to be an excellent role model....

WWE Judgement Day PPV matches are impressive!!!

We are one day away and I expect a vast array of talent to be displayed....All the hype and buildup will be brought to a close tommorrow night...I am hoping that we will have clean finishes to determine the better men on this given evening and I anticipate that all three 3 major Champions will keep their respective titles and a new IC Champion will be crowned....Rey Mysterio was injured this past tuesday night when Smackdown is taped for friday night TV....
With that in mind I find it almost impossible for him to retain the IC Title....
Here is the lineup for Judgement Day:
* John Morrison vs. Shelton Benjamin * Umaga vs. CM Punk* The Big Show vs. John Cena* WWE IC Title Match: Rey Mysterio © vs. Chris Jericho * ECW Title Match: Christian © vs. Jack Swagger* WWE Title Match: Randy Orton © vs. Batista* World Title Match: Edge © vs. Jeff Hardy.................
Best of luck to all the participants tommorrow night.....This has the makings of a very physically intertaining evening.....

16 Times World Champion wants to return to the ring for ROH?

I expected it...And I will believe it when and if it happens....C'mon we're talking about the Nature Boy...Whooooooo....Space mountain baby...WHHOOOOOOO.....It appears the recently turned 60 year old...Slick Ric...The limousine ridin...Jet Flyin....Son of a Gun....Has seriously caught the bug again...And no...I'm not talkin swine flu..Naiche has been observed to having reniewed interest in Walkin that Isle once again.....Let's picture this...The NWA World heavyweight Championship is up for grabs on a Big ROH PPV....The current Champion from Mexico, The Blue Demon..puts it on the line...Giving him the largest high profile match of his carreer...And the NWA World heavyweight Championship it's biggest significance since TNA days.....No disrespict to ROH(that is PRO-WRESTLING..the Sport..Today)because they focus on the physical aspect of Artistic Combat which really is what Pro-Wrestling is to..Let's say..MMA or Pro-Boxing.......
WWE is Intertainment...This statement is what Vince McMahon wishes to project to the public...
It has become yet another marketing tool to increase audience interaction & acceptance...However Vince who himself..his son..his daughter and his wife have all put themselves thru physical altercations in the ring(Vince & Shane..very physical)remmember Vince vs. Stone Cold or Shane vs. Kurt Angle(that was nuts..man).....Can you say back to belly suplex twice....Nuts....
Simply put it is in WWE'S best interest to promote Wrestling as intertainment for the following reasons:It will not be regulated by the state athletic commission.Which will reduce costs & taxes..No sports tax...No oversight by any state appointed commission.......
The big one of course is having to answer to the government...Can you imagine if the federal government gets involved...Due to so many pre-mature deaths...Many related to steroid abuse....
It can ultimately do significant harm to a public owned co. enough said about that....
However they package it as Sport or Intertainment or Sports Intertainment...No one can deny the physical ramifications that awaits Pro-Wrestlers in there later years.........
Lets name three: Stone cold...Hulkter and Bret Hart....True headliners...They now pay the ultimate price in a physical capacity.....And there are others...Too many to mention....
To those who easily write off Pro-Wrestling as fake....Re-think that....Folks...If you can apreciate & admire Artistic Combat in high impact encounters...Then I can honestly say that you have the ability to apreciate the Art of Pro-Wrestling....If not...Then I can only say...Your missing the boat on this one.....Anyway it is what it is....15 million every week experience it and always come back for more and that's WWE alone....Not to mention an incredible amount of smaller promotions around the world...Every Day of the year.....So with that in mind when and if it happens: Flair vs. Blue Demon for the NWA World's heavyweight Championship.....I'm lookin @ NUMBER 17...Let's only hope w/anticipation for someone to book this match....I think Philly would be a very appropriate place for this one...We May however need a bigger place to accomodate all that may want to see this one live...Bigger than the Arena @ Swanson & Ritner st's in south philly....
Too bad their imploding the Spectrum....Which till this day still hold's the all time attendance record of over 19,700 for a cage match between then WWWF Champ:Superstar Billy Graham vs. Bruno Sammarino.....I'll finish w/WHHHOOOOOOOOOO.............................

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Mysterio Vs. Jericho for the IC Title @ Judgement Day...

What can say...This match has the potential of simply stealing the show....
You take the Champ Rey Mysterio...Small by Stature @ only 5' 3" 175 lbs..He has held the WWE World Title...Has cemented himself as a very legitimate contender for any Title that is up for grabs on any occasion, against any competitor of any size...Only against the Big Show did he have a really large obstacle to overcome, which was very evident in their match recently... A heavy loss for Rey...But a huge promotional win for Show....Good thing the IC Title was not on the line..Go figure....Rey however has the distinct ability to implement his wrestling style to contradict any opposition and make it exciting and entertaining...His moves exhibit perfect timing and have full impact which is a serious plus when facing larger opposition 100% of the time...
Chris Jericho...The 1st man ever to hold the inified Championships both World & WWE(only one of two men, the other being Brock Lesnar)Titles........In addition he has held literally ever Title
in the WWE...A very accomplished resume to say the least....His in-ring work speaks for itself.....
Adding the IC Title will certainly complement that....I expect a full contact, very fast paced match that will give fans a very exciting finish...Quite possibly with Jericho winning the IC Title....

On ECW Tyson Kid vs. Evan Bourne

I have to say that the action in the ring between these 2 pro's made for a very exciting match...
They went @ each other w/an acceptional display of Mat work followed by some awesome high flying assaults...There were very inpressive moves from both men and the pace was very calculated and fast...Bourne continues to impress w/very solid kicks from the ground and the air...This guy has a very appealing quality...His in ring work is truly phenominal...I just hope he can stay healthy long enough to get that opportunity to compete & perform against Christian for the ECW Title @ some point in the near future...Perhaps a big PPV...I'm quite sure that a big high profile match could really bring out the best in both men for the world to see....Tyson kid appears to have an incredible amount of talent to go up against any competitor(big or small) and truly show what he's made of...I don't think that we have seen even the surface of talent yet scratched from this guy....WWE claims that he was the last wrestler trained @ the famous Hart dungion in Canada...His solid work ethic shows that agressive style....I expect to see big matches in the future from him....He certaintly has the athletic ability to perform....I personally look forward to seeing what the future brings for both men...The true winners in the end will be the fans.....

Batista vs. Orton for the WWE Title...

Dave Batista has a lot to prove on the upcoming PPV...He turned 40 while out of action recovering from his most recent injury...The WWE Championship is a title that he has admitedly wanted to hold but muscle injuries have sidelined him on numerous occasions taking him out of the Title hunt for months @ a time...He however is quick to recover...His most recent injury was supposed to sideline him for up to 8 months but he made a spectacular return the night after wrestlemania 25 on RAW...Only 3 & a half months later....Last week he beat The Big Show(Paul White) to become the #1 contender and has secured his spot for the Title....He has performed quite well but appeared to have some difficulty w/Ted Debiase in another recent match...Which raises the question...Is he ready to wrestle the championship away from Orton @ this point?
My educated guess would have to be no...But I have been wrong before...In the world of Pro-Wrestling you just never know...One thing I do know for sure is that he can not out-perform Orton....Not many can right now...Will have to wait and see what the outcome will be...It should however be an awesome match to see...Orton brings out the best in just about everyone from an athletic perspective....Tonights RAW...Let the build up begin....I'm sure Shane McMahon will be a factor....

Monday, April 27, 2009

WWE gives fans 3 new champions.........

I expected Orton to be the new WWE champion because of the direction that will bring a fresh new outlook on the title picture....I didn't think it would end the way it did and I would have hoped that Orton/HHH would have been more of a classic physical encounter to end w/a more dramatic finish...At this point I am very happy that Orton is @ the helm..He is very deserving of that title.... Edge new World Champ & Christian new ECW Champ.....That was an awesome hat trick that was not forscene in one night....congrats to all three men...Edge however is debatable......He is accomplished and has proved that being an opportunist does really pay off....Can't wait to see what these 3 new/old faces will bring to the table...should make it very interesting......RAW tonight should be very intertaining....The taunts in the McMahon's directed by Orton should be awesome TV....Let's all tune in to see....

The 4 factors to tonights main event......

Last posting I focused on the challenger(Orton)and HHH(CHAMP)...I left the other 4 paricipants out of the picture...Why??
Well, The reason is simple...The WWE Title goes only to 2 men...How ever WWE writers chose to go w/this tonight its clear that the athletes in the ring will have to back it up w/pure action....Rhoades & Debiase vs. Batista & Shane is the addition that will allow HHH to drop the Title to Orton without actually getting pined....It takes away from the imposed legitimate finish that could really give Orton the respect he deserves from an athletic perspective......
But here's the kicker...If Orton does win....This will give RAW a complete different perspective...Fresh outlook to matches that in are incomming and the closest thing to a McMahon vs. Stonecold story line to date.....orton has it in him....Lets hope this is delivered.....

HHH vs. Randy Orton...Who will win???

This sunday once again for the WWE Championship Orton vs. HHH will headline the show....

The Champion is a very decorated performer who is a 13 time title holder...He has defeated the best in the business...It is widely known the much of the predetermined success has a lot to do with the fact that he is the chairmans son in law, however the real truth of the matter is that he backs up his good fortune with very good physical development and excellent ring work....

HHH is a true technician weather he is selling a beatdown or he is the deliverer of one....

The challenger on this night will be a 1 time World Champion, savvy, quick as a cat, possibly the finest ring general who's offense is second to none, very crisp, agressive and defiant....

Orton really does pose an incredible challenge to any opponent on any given night...and of course let's not forget his unquestionable ability to be the ultimate heel...His mic work gets the fans attention and his actions, aggresive as they are...always appear to seal the deal.....

I see Orton doing this on sunday night(I BELIEVE) what should have been done @ Wrestlemania 25, closing the deal and walking away with the WWE Chamionship........

Team 3D get the tag titles and the crowd in philly...

Philly wrestling is like no other...There was definite evidence of that by what happened @ Lockdown on sunday night...The estimated 4500 in attendance recieved a special treat when Bubba Ray & Devon stepped thru the curtain to do battle...The crowd was electric for most of the matches, but this one, stole the show.....It appears that the OLD E.C.W. has been gone, but even after a decade has passed, It is certainly not forgotten.....In the midst of the battle that insued in & out of the 6 sides of steele...The crowd chanted E.C.W ...E.C.W. ...E.C.W. ......It appeared that Team 3D embraced it & ran w/it to the fullist extent that was possible....
Let's face it, this was a T.N.A. PPV...Yet the old E.C.W. boys rule the atmosphere and the crowd let them know it...Congrats to Bubba Ray & Devon on their awesome win to combine both the IWGP & TNA Tag Team championships......All philly Wrestling fans thank you both & T.N.A. for the priveledge of seeing this live.....

Last night in Phila, history was made....My hats off to Mick Foley for the tremendous win displayed @ the Liacouras center in the temple university campus before a capacity crowd and a world wide audience on PPV....
T.N.A. wrestling really delivered BIG time....Mick, I have to say to you what I said to you once before back in the mid 90's @ the E.C.W. arena that you are the true epitemy of what a pro-wrestler is and should be....The risk envolved in just about all the matches that I have been fortunate enough to see envolving you, What you give to every spectator that buys a ticket or a PPV event in simply incredible to watch and certainly to be admired...thank you @ good luck to you...
